Selecting and using a gun drill for deep hole drilling can sometimes be and stainless steel but what if you are using aluminum or brass.

Our gun drilling department is a specialized process designed to drill holes with a high depth to diameter ratio. We utilize top of the line machining centers and specialize in holding tight tolerances with excellent surface finishes. Our surface grinding department can handle larger plate capacities with tight tolerances on flat and parallel.

The gun drilling process is ideal for smaller hole diameters, up to 50 mm [2.00 in]. The gun drilling process differs from BTA drilling due to coolant entry and chip removal; gundrills introduce coolant internally through a small hole within the tool, and chips are removed by coolant through a groove outside the length of the tool.
